10 Up, 10 Down

Loma Prieta, California in Winter with Snow

Hills are a great measure of health. If you can walk or ride in the hills, then you are healthy. You can pretty much ignore every other measure that is saying otherwise.

Besides being a good measure of health, the effort of being in the hills makes you fit. Our bodies were made to move and hills require extra power but return it with faster gains. Absorbing the beauty of the hills and mountains is simply a bonus.

The ride up Loma Prieta in Santa Cruz County is ten miles up to Summit Road and ten miles down. This is a photo in winter time with a rare dusting of snow on the peak.
